whenever the cops are speeding by me i speed to, like marbro said its much better than them going slow and everybody else all scared to do the speed limit. but surprisingly ive had alot of good run ins with chgo cops, and sheriffs that are just really cool about alot of bad things[speeding, racing , drunk driving] especailly narcs they just pull you out of the car and ruff you up a little bit and say this is your lucky day. when i totalled my baby [92 civic lx] they could have taken me to jail made me pay for city property damage dui, but they basically let me off scott free, probably because i killed my car already they figured i was suffering enough, but i will never forget it. thanks chgo pd much love

Its mostly split where i live. State troppers here are pretty cool. But some times you get those damn rookies who want to make a name for them selves and give you a ticket for going 63mph in a 55. Damn rookies.

 

My input is this...Thank Goodness that when you do need a policeman that he is there to help you out...who else would put his life out there on the line to help you..Think About That Folks...

I'm not sure that such a hot political and emotionaltopic is fruitful on a site devoted to Honda Accords, but since it has been allowed to this point, there are two sides to every story, and I'd like to weigh in on one of them.

No cop has ever helped me or my wife. However, I have had several speeding tickets handed to me by them.

But I guesswe're pretty lucky compared tothe experience that other unfortunate folks have hadwith the police. Last year, for example, many Edmontonians on Whyte Avenue(who were celebrating Oiler's victories)were illegally detained, or arrested, or beaten by Edmonton's Finest - some for merely stepping off the sidewalk onto thestreet. I have met two people who were brutalized by police at that event. One is a lawyer who was struck and taseredfor attempting to take a picture of police brutality that wastaking place in front of him. The other was a young woman who was arrested for very briefly stepping off the sidewalk onto the street. She was handcuffed, detained,and hours later released with no chargeeverbeing laid, and without ever having had the opportunity to talk to anyone about it.
