Default How much would you pay for this?

I'm looking at a 2000 model Accord LX 5 speed ULEV 4 cyl. It's blue with gray interior. It's pretty clean, 1 owner (if you don't include the auction company and the dealer selling it), and no accidents on the history report. 125K miles.

KBB says $3200. I say my limit is $3500. What would you pay?

Is it an automatic or a manual? The 98-02s had some automatic transmission issues, the 4cylinder wasnt as bad as the 6 cylinder but it still doesn't have a clean track record.

Just something to keep in mind.

But I wouldn't pay over $3,500 for it, thats for sure.

It's a manual. I recently heard (from here) about the auto issues, so I was looking for a 5 speed like this.

Then it is probably a pretty fair deal. Where are you located? After living in different areas of the country I have found that Hondas really hold their value down in the south but seem to be a dime a dozen up north.

Has the timing belt been replaced? I ask because that is due....so if not plan on that out of the gate....which IMO is part of the "price" of the car.

Not sure, but I already plan on replacing both the timing belt and the water pump as soon as I get it. I looked up the absolute best part numbers on Advanced (based on customer reviews) and searched the part numbers on eBay. Would cost $55 for the parts at Advanced, and only $30 on eBay for the same.

Timing Belt - Dayco Part No. 95186
Water Pump - GMB Part No. 135-1280

I take that back. I took the time to research prices, part reviews, and purchase locations and I'll be able to change the water pump, timing belt, balance shaft belt and seal, front crank seal, and cam seal for $65.
