oh i would i love alpine, just hoping that metra sale will last for a little while. i was gonna ask the girls bro to buy that alpine off him but i thought sometimes i do play cd, most cause im to lazy to get my pod outta the car.
Best thing to do is find someone with an old 3g ipod with a dead HDD, most people think they can't be fixed anyways. I got mine from my brother in law for free, got a brand new HDD for $30, so it's as reliable as a brand new ipod. Then just never take it out of the car. When I get my new HU I'm going to throw my classic i the car, but still keep the 3g ipod in there as a backup. I never even use my classic though, my ipod touch gets the job done even better. Alpine does make HUs with ipod connections and cd drives though, but the ipod interface make not be as fact and may not be digital audio from the ipod. Like with the kenwood, what it's going to do is control the ipod while the ipod itself decompresses the music and send an analog audio signal to the HU. The ipod only alpines don't do that, they are reading the MP3 itself and decompresses it, giving you better quality. I don't know if you guys can tell, but the audio quality on the ipod is not top notch, even with my amp and Sennheiser HD555s. You lose that fidelity in the high frequencies.
