The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
No idea got my car used with 5k miles, it was a repo. I really don't know much about this, but in the top plastic reservoir it looks to be pure water. What is the proper ratio of water to coolant? I have to problem draining the radiator and starting fresh, even if it costs a bit. I'm only at 34k miles if that means anything as well.
Yeah I think I'm going to take you up on the coolant lol. Sometime this week cool? I'll set you up with a few bucks for yourself, can't expect you to come through for nothing now lol.
Would there be coolant in the plastic reservoir, or does it somehow stay in the radiator? I can't imagine that it wouldn't be visible in the reservoir. Antifreeze/coolant is usually like a weird green right? What's in my reservoir is clear as pure water.
EDIT: I'm also using firefox and had no problem saving it, if your on a mac you have to ctrl-click and choose download linked file or whatever it is.

Yes there should be coolant in the reservoir. You need to clean it off and the tank should have a MIN and MAX line. On my car, I colored it with a Sharpie so I can now easily tell whether it is low or high. Make sure that when you compare the levels that the cars temperature is the same. I usually check mine when it is cold.
Honda coolant is green.
EDIT: If there is no coolant in your tank you will begin to suck up air. Air cannot dissipate the heat. This causes hot spots in your block and causes the aluminum to warp which will equal a new headgasket and some machining.

Yeah my level is just below the max line, about 3 months ago I noticed it was about in the middle and I topped it off. The level is still the same since I topped it off. Although I think I've only checked it cold, tomorrow I'll check it when it's hot. I think I'm just going to drain it and get fresh coolant tin there. What is the best ratio of coolant to water?
