The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
HAF, I need your input in scamming a scammer. I've got a few things up on craigslist, and I have gotten a few responses similar to this. It made me look up how they could possibly scam me with paypal like this. Well basically they say they never got anything, and paypal freezes your account and refunds them their money. Well I have an idea around this, now I'm still going to send him the PSP, but he is going to have a hard time getting his money back. I'm just going to make a new account false name, and addy and the second I get the money I'm going to spend it. So when he tries to file a claim, there won't be anything to take. Paypal will prolly be pissed with me, but I'm going to keep records of the tracking and signature info. Should I go for it? I don't really care about the money, I just want to see this mother****ers face at the end of this...
EDIT: And my response... Still haven't decided if I'm going to go for it. Trying to think of all the possible outcomes and consequences, and reading over paypal's user agreement crap.

Sure, that sounds good. Let me have the shipping information so I can verify that the shipping fees will be covered by the additional $50. I do have a paypal account, so a paypal payment is fine. And it's the safest way, so it's all good with me. Take care!

I've done some reading on the subject, and it's not that simple. Just google "paypal seller scams". And this is how I know, I've gotten two emails from the guy from two somewhat similar emails and two similar yet totally different stories. Here is the first one I got that I didn't even respond to.
Just wreaks of some dude living in a shack with a bunch of stolen crap in eastern europe...
EDIT: Actually his first email was do you still have it, and I told him yes, than came the above email. Then a couple hours later after I didn't respond he tried from another email.

Hmm, starting to think maybe this guy is trying some scheme I haven't thought of. Any thoughts HAF?
let me have your paypal email for me to pay, then after the payment i we give you the address that you are going to ship to.
hope to hear from you soon.

Fatty, ship it with a required signature, that way it can't come back to you for not shipping it. Also do email updates from the carrier and take dated pictures of everything.
They can still call the credit card company and have their account frozen so you can't take the money. I was scammed in a similar fashion via Facebook for a stupid amount of money.

Yeah I am, but he could say I shipped a rock. And me taking pictures of it, isn't going to prove much of anything. I've done a fair share for reading, and it is not hard for these people to scam you, and paypal can not do much about it. There is a surprisingly a lot of bad info on paypal out there. I actually just sent him my paypal to see if he's actualy intedning on sending any money. If I change my mind I'll just refund him, but right now I thinking I'm going for it.
Well it sounds like you will probably get screwed anyways.... can you look at the paypal dispute policy? I think you'd be able to transfer the funds from paypal to you bank account before he could possibly file a dispute.
