The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
That's why I've stuck with stock speakers... I have Pioneers in the rear and they don't sound that bad, I mean as long as the ****ty speakers are crossed with something, more power goes to making some bright highs and some punchy mids.
What amp is he running? I bet he isn't even feeding each sub 600w, if his amp is 1000w or less tell him to hook it up to a single sub and see the difference. These subs need a lot of power to come alive and are underrated, I've read of some guys feeding them 1200w for competitions. The CVX is a damn good sub for the money, I love the combination of loudness and clarity.
If your running stock speakers I would cross them higher than that, I would say 200hz with a nice slope if you can adjust it.
EDIT: Sweet someone finally uploaded the slightly stoopid discography in FLAC

I think he has the Kicker amp you recommended to him... I'll tell him to hook one up sometime and see what it sounds like. Right now they're in a box in the spare tire well so I think they need a new box as well.
Cross at 200? I won't have any mids if I bring them up that high. What slope would you suggest? A gentle one? lol... I can adjust them though. Should I leave the sub where it is? It's got to be at 100 or so right now and if I don't bring the sub up, there will be a valley in the graph.

If you have them crossed at 200hz, they will still play frequencies below that. The crossover will just decrease the volume. I would set it between 150hz and 200hz and try a 6db or 12db slope. Diminished midbass is much better than distortion, at least in my book.
Yeah leave the sub where it is, maybe even try turning it down a bit. What sub do you have? I think a W7 will even start to distort in that range. When you cross your sub at 60, it will still play up to 100, just with reduced output. Remember sealed boxes are more prone to distortion.
Unless he got the kicker 1500.1 it's not what I recommended for two subs. Running two off a 750.1 will be slightly quieter and not sound as crisp. These aren't engines, displacement means nothing if you have no power to move them. There are plenty of replacements for displacement in subs.
EDIT: A box in the spare tire well?? How the hell did he fit a 2 cube box in the tire well? I think his box is too small then too. The sweet spot for these CVX's is 1.2 cubes, and you can actually hear a difference between 1.2 and 1.0. My 1.2 box actually broke recently, so I have my sub temporarily in a dual box that is 1.0, and I could hear the difference.

Yeah, Ill have to monkey with the crossover a bit more on the drive home here in a bit. The subs and speakers don't distort normally where it's at now, it's just that one ****ing song makes them horrible.
I just looked up what amp it is and it's not a 750.1 or 1500.1, it's a MTX amp of some sort... actually it's a MTX TA8502... i googled it and it's says it's a 2-channel? I dunno why he would buy that then...
And yeah it's in the spare tire well... I think it's a sealed singe chamber box. He knows he needs a new box, he just doesn't want to mess with it right now.

A single chamber sealed? That's no good, and it's prolly too small too. Not only that he is barely feeding them enough power with that amp, it's only going to pump 500w when it's cold. When those a/b amps get hot they start to put out less and less. Don't judge the CVX's until he gets a real amp and box. I hate how these kids think that they need another sub, but slack on the amp. Stupidest thing you can do, all your doing is wasting money on additional driver.
