Default Honda project 1998 EX 2.3L VTEC SOHC

I have only had my Accord for about a month now and I am going thru a detailed cleaning process to identify any problem areas and do mods while I have everything apart. Trunk panels are all removed and I found what looks like corn that a squirrel was storing in the trunk!! Not sure where I am going with it but I enjoy working on and modifying cars so its giong to be a blast!

I changed the drive belt tension-er bearing on Sunday (2007 Accord 2.2L), and I would like to give some advise. When you take out the bolt to take out the bearing, there is a nut that will fall into the unknown. I couldn't find it and so I had to go to Lowe's and get a "M10 X 1.5" lock nut. On the back side where the nut goes, it has a perfect fit for the shape of the nut, so you have no choice but to take the entire tension-er off of the car and bring it with you into the store (Looking kinda like a moron while holding a car part in a hardware store) and match up a nut that will fit in the spot perfectly.

So please be aware that the nut will fall and cause you some major headache if you have no other vehicle to drive to get another nut. The M10 X 1.5 was the only nut that worked for the spot for it to go into and would work with the bolt as well.

Just sayin, there's a nut there that will fall.

Hi posativJ311

Similar sort of things keep happening to me when I work on my 4x4 truck.
I use a magnet to catch it! simple!

It is this little fella which saves the day every time

Other Tools, Tool Packs, & Wraps >> Bikemaster Telescopic Magnet Light

Good luck mate

I drove it for the first time to a (running) track work out. I also drove it for the first time in the rain. Unfortunately those two things were concurrent. That made for a cold sloppy run but I will say the rain beaded up real nicely on that black paint.

Took it for its yearly MOT test and.................... failed on emission badly!

the garage was a friendly one so I knew they won't lie.

Ordered a new Cat-converter and fitted it (same day). Passed with flying colors! Happy days!

So now I am looking into getting my money back from saving fuel in the next few fill ups!

Did 30 miles run and the fuel gauge hardly moved!

While at it, balanced all four wheels, they were WAY OUT!

work so far,

the exhaust down pipe,
the timing belts,
the cat converter,

I am not gonna include the tyres as they are wear and tear.

Default Got some parts, still need some new old stock stuff

I added the plastic cover to my rear passenger side door light. Now my light bulb won't get accidentally smashed Picked up a new ash tray for my MIA one. Who steals an ash tray from a honda? Seriously

I moved the emergency flashers light on my console from it's spot on the left to the spot for the sunroof button(if so equipped). I'm kind of a tall guy and when I first got the car my steering wheel and hands always obscured the flasher, so I decided just to move it.

Things I'd like to fix to make it brand new old stock: Let me know if you have any of the following I asterisk. For the right price I might take them off your hands)

New 94-97' Honda Leather Steering Wheel* (preferably in like new condition. Don't need the air bag unit)
Corner Light Assembly(Driver's side one w/ the reflector in it)
New Trunk(Heather mist pearl)
Silver plastic trim on the trunk lid(Like new condition)

Took it for a drive, came back home, jacked it up, and flushed the engine oil, changed the oil filter. Might need to top it up by about ........... 300ml

The book says, max capacity 4.3litres but I think which I maybe wrong, takes a tad more!

Drove it to and from London (again), about 450miles round trip. didn't miss a beat and was a pleasure to drive it even in the worst traffic congestions of London

Might need to do the tracking
