im looking to trade in my 2012 honda accord LX (automatic) with 6k miles for a nissan maxima.

the sales guy told me he can give me 17k for the trade it, but i felt thats kind of a low offer. i saw on auto trader a similar car selling for over 20k.

should i demand him to up his offer? someone please help me, i dont want to be taken advantage of.

also i should mention the sales guy said when people trade in cars it goes through inspection, for oil change and brakes which could cost $1500. but my car is brand new, it doesnt need brakes or an oil change.

i did, i went to another dealer and they were willing to go up to 18k and when i told him that he said it doesn't matter, that their probably just raising the price on the car to off set that.

also about the $1500 for a inspection for trading in a brand new car seems sketchy...is that true? oil change is like $40 and it doesnt need any new brakes...it only has 6k miles on it.
