Control arm bolts have made me mad..
Hey Guys,
I'm pretty new to this forum, so I just wanted to at least introduce myself... First off, let me begin by saying that my car is a piece... Furthermore, it was a free piece, so I shouldn't be complaining.
Now, I am in the midst of changing the driver's side CV Axle, and had been advised by a few friends, that these are notorious for being a pain in the ****, since you need to unbolt the lower lateral control arm.. I started unbolting, and suddenly spun the bushing off of the metal sleeve. On top of this, the bolt WILL NOT come out of the bushing.. No biggie, I'll just cut it out... Well, since I decided it'd be easier to just unbolt the whole thing, let's go from there..
I snapped the upper control arm bolt IN the body of the car.. The bummer is, the oil pan is in the way, and the metal sleeve from the upper most bushing, is seized on the broken bolt piece.. I have a buddy of mine who will be removing the bolt..
I called Honda today, to order new Bolts, and they told almost $20 a piece.. WTF?!?!?! So I'm here to ask, What is the length, size and Thread Pitch of that bolt?? I have a bad BUTT hardware store down the road from me, which has every piece of hardware out there, and I know they have it.. I just want to get the right size, since my car is more than an hour from where I live, and my friend is supposed to be working on it tomorrow....
TIA
JT
