Default Replacing struts, should I do the springs too?

I was told I needed new front struts, after 154K, duh? Looking for some advice or opinion here:

1 - any thoughts on new struts, not looking for a high performance racing break my wallet, just a normal strut, maybe a slight upgrade from the stock struts. I commute 110 miles/day and it's mainly highway.

2 - should I replace the springs too? I'm a novice do it yourselfer but can rent the spring compressor from Autozone, have a whole weekend if needed.

3 - if replacing the springs, refer to question 1, nothing flashy, economical and durable.

My "ride" - 2001 Accord EX, 5 spd, 154,000 miles, new shifter **** (yup did it myself and didn't curse once, lol), novice car guy.

Default RE: Replacing struts, should I do the springs too?

I wouldnt think you would need to replace the springs too, unless you want to lower it ...Ive got KYB gr-2 struts andI think they are better than the stock ones in terms of ride quality and theyre pretty cheap...Look for a DIY on here or V6P before you do the strut swap. and it helps greatly to have an impact wrench when using those damn spring compressors.......take ur time and make sure you remember which bushing goes where and where all the washers go too....good luck
