Default stabilizer bar/ links Accord 2000

Hi,

I have a 4 cylinder Accord 2000 LXG. There was an intermittent rattling noise coming from back. So I took it to dealership. They told me that rear stabilizer bar/links have some play and making noise. They said it can’t be replaced and I have to pay $ 315 CAD for the replacement. They were unable to explain what’s the impact on the car operation if not replaced. Rather they were confused. One rep said no issues if I can live with noise. Other said if noise becomes continuous its a safety issue.

So I am confused. Can someone please help me to understand the functions of these links/bars and impact of play on driving safety? Any recommendation to get a cheaper repair/remedy.

Thanks in advance.

If you mean item #'s 6&7, they aren't expensive.

It's not a real safety concern as long as it's all still securely attached. However, it will make the car handle worse.
