Default tire noise

OE Bridgestones are noisy! I know Calif roads are terrible but the road noise has become unbearable. If I turn up the stereo any louder, my ears will bleed. Even my pickup truck has a quieter ride on the same freaking surfaces! Suggestions for upgrade?

Lower the tire pressure to a minimum of 32 PSI, this should help a little while keeping it in a safe range. If that doesn't help.... buy new tires?

^^^ Better yet, match the front and rear pressure to the sticker inside the driver's door. My father's X3 had too much air in 3 and too little in 1 tire; when I fixed them, the handling improved dramatically and the bumpiness in the back seat was reduced noticeably.

His issue wasn't road noise, but this is also effected by the tire pressure.

^^^ I only said 32 because I figured they were at or near the recommended pressure and still too noisy. Just amke sure if you lower the pressure you won't be driving on the sidewalls.

I figured that 32 was just a standard pressure recommendation. IDK what the sticker says on the 7th gens.

I drove it around for the first couple months or so at recommended PSI. When gas rose to over $4/gal, I said screw it and loaded them up to 38 psi (max is 40). Did not notice any appreciable difference in tire noise entering the passenger cabin.

So am I to understand that my '99 Toyota Tacoma pick up truck with BFG All-Terrains can be EXPECTED to be quieter over the same roadsas this Honda?!!

What tires can this group recommend for replacement?

I am concerned more with peak performance, but I haven't noticed any significant noise from Yokohama AVS dB S2's, but they stopped maing them due to a design flaw. Yokohama is a great brand though. Right now, I have Toyo Proxy4's and they are quiet also.

I had a set of Khumo's that I didn't really like. Pretty soon I'm going to get a set of rims and do summer and winter sets ..... winter may be all-season due to the temperature fluctuations in NNJ.
