Default Tirerack question

For everyone out there thats ordered from Tirerack/wheelsnext I had a question.
What is the quality of the tires that come with the wheels, and how long is the tead life? I am assuming they are pretty junky tires.

how did you look up the set? when I bought winters for my M3, I was able to pick the rims and tires separately.

I dont remember, but now after I choose the rim, I just hit add to cart and shop for tires.
Maybe they changed it or I was thinking of eBay?

my guess is that you were working with another site...tire rack has been real easy to deal with. i have also had a lot of success with discount tire outlets. they will match tire rack prices. plus shipping of course.

I think WheelsNext is much cheaper than TireRack. Free shipping and all the other goodies.

Still, on either website when you choose the tires they dont state the life of the tire.

the last couple of sets I have bought I have relied on the reviews, and they have been spot on, though you have to read a fair amount to get a good survey of the population.

Looking at the UTQC or whatever number on tirerack will give you a fairly good estimate of the life span of the tire. Lower the number, shorter the treadlife. Something between 500 and 600 should last 30 to 40k.

the best way is to look at reviews like smag mentioned .... only I'd add that I only look at negative reviews.
