Default wheel refinishing?

First of all...THANKS TO WheelBrokerAng for always being available.

I just picked up 2004 accord rims.

The rims are in great shape but some of the clear on the polished parts of the rims is peeling and there is some minor oxidation.

Does anyone have a link or know how to reclear rims?

Thanks

care to elaborate on this? i have my OEM wheels sandblasted, and it didnt look like there was any way to get that OEM shine back on them. i used Mothers metal polish and all it did was make the metal darker. i ended up painting them with silver wheel paint, but i would love to get that original shine back. here's a pic of when they first got sandblasted and the polish i tryed using.

So you only sandblasted them and then used metal polish. Try sandblasting with a rough (low) grit sand and then a fine (high) grit sand to remove scratches/blemishes. Then, clean the wheels with alcohol. Next, clear coat them with 2 coats or more or clear. I wouldn't advise spray painting the clear. It would be best to get them cleared at Abra or Maaco or a nicer paint shop. Or, if possible powder coat clear them? If you've ever painted a car, you know that the paint is usually pretty flat (like your wheels) until you clear coat it.

See....I just wnt to take the chipping clear off. Shine the alumminum and re clear....sort of seal the shine from the aluminum.

This is what I did today..I cleaned one of the rims preety well. I then used a orbital sander with 400 grit paper and removed all the clear on one of the spokes. I followed with 800,1200 and 1500. It came flat and there were some fine scraches that I was able to remove with 3m coumpound..

Then I spent some time with mcguires polish and a mothers ball to shine it up and It came out beautifull!!!! I will take some pics as I do them.

I guess when I'm done Ill figure out what kind of clear I will be using .
Does anybody know of a good clear (spray can) that will seal good straight in to the alumminum?
