Default CD player "DISC" Error

I have a 2002 Accord 2.0 V6 with 40k miles. On a trip back from Maryland I was listening to Cd's, everything was working normally. The next day, none of my discs would play. Most of my discs are purchased, but the few that are burned have always played without problems. Every disc, in the 6 disc CD changer now flashes DISC in the display, and then ejects the disc. The radio works fine, as well as all other options in the car, HVAC etc. Fuses are fine. I cant seem to find what the flashing DISC is trying to tell me. I tried blowing compressed air into the port as well. My next step is to remove the CD player/radio and try to trouble shoot it. I don't know how to do this once disconnected from the battery, however. My speculation is that either the laser has stopped working, or the motor has burned out or is not spinning at an optimal RPM. Anybody have any experience in this area, or any other ideas/suggestions?

Thanks!

I believe that the radio is an Alpine unit. There is an 800 number you can call and ask them if they can fix this problem. Also get a quote. I think the price has gone up recently.

Here is the thread that I am mentioning with the number and the price increase.

Unfortunately not. I ended up buying a new CD player for the car.
