2013 Accord problems with nav. and blutooth
WOW, found this link on the other forum. Did not realize there were sub menus. This confirms its not the speakers but the software controlling the system that is leading to such poor quality sound.

Turn on the "flat" setting on the DSP and the sound improves tremendously. Unfortunately it does not save.

Agreed...I can't find them either for the non-NAV unit. Oh sure, I found new clocks and color schemes and the speaker test...nothing else tho.
I have my Accord 2013 EXL w/ Navi ~ 6 wks. Imported my iPhone 5 phone book at the dealer. Added Speed Dial & recorded name recognition for the speed dial list. Then a few wks later, everything was lost. No speed dial list, get msg "can not import phone book" Tech guy at dealer today said, "I have never seen this problem before" Finally, I imported phone book again. Said "Call HOME" which is a listing in my phone book. Up popped every listing in iPhone that has a "home phone" in the contacts list. Many more problems, list too long to list. Dealer is "looking" into it.
Just spoke to Honda Tech in CA [800-999-1009 x7] & it is a known issue that software gurus are working on, BUT there is NO ETA. So Honda seems comfortable in selling & charging for 4 cylinder cars with only 3 cylinders.

It has been a while since I posted but I had a surprise last week. I have had my accord in for software updates on several occasions over the past several months and the sound has improved. last week I was putting luggage in the trunk and looked up to make sure I didn't hit the speakers and had a BIG SUPPRISE. The two speakers and sub are not what came installed in the car. I don't know what other changes were made but the speakers have defiantly been replaced. The current speakers have polymer cones and much larger magnet structures. I listen to a lot of classical music and I can now hear the low notes, not loud but at least they are there. My blue tooth still sucks and I wonder if they are even trying to fix it. You would think after a year it would work correctly. No contacts down loaded, no call history, it still locks up the phone and every now and then it will wipe out all my speed numbers. Has anyone else noticed a speaker change?

First, my dealer did the service bulletin firmware update. But, after a couple of weeks it lost speed dial, etc. again. He then ordered a whole new hardware unit & that has been keeping all the data for ~5 wks now. Hopefully, it is OK. Have not checked on speakers.
And yes, there is a nice audio improvement, especially on the lows! Still could be better, but it's a huge improvement, IMHO.

It took me awhile to find it on the non-NAV unit (with touch screen), but finally got it! Press the Power, Display and Back buttons at the same time. Wait for the menu to pop up, then let go of the buttons. THEN, press and hold the Menu button until the Developer menu pops up. Scroll down to DSP and turn Flat "On". Back out and you're all set!
