This is not a question but a thanks and to inform. First of all thanks to these forums for the info on speakers - specifically the front sizes. Second to just give you what worked great for me.

I did a couple of searches and found out that the general info is half right on the front speaker sizes.

My son has a 1993 Accord LX and Crutchfield and other sites listed it as 6.5 inch speakers all around. Well as many of you know they are 6.5 in diameter but very shallow and the holes will not handle a normal 6.5 inch speaker.

So I purchased 5.25 (Pioneer 2 way) for the front and 6.5 for the rears (Pioneer4 way). These went in great! Matched up the holes in the front great and the 6.5 in the back. So just a little door panel removal, wire splicing and working some screws and my son and my self had 4 installed in about 1 hour! These were his birthday present and he was very pleased. Of course this are much better than the cardboard junk that came from the factory.
