My system was designed for sound quality, It is not the loudest my any means, I am only pushing just over 130dbs although my subs could handle quite a bit more watts. They only see 1300 watts each right now.
That said. I think the box makes all the difference in the world on how any sub sounds. Mine hits hard, but it sounds awesome too. I would by no means call my system a one hit wonder. Maybe the boxes you heard the L7s in were not made correctly.
One of these days I want to start learning how to fiberglass.

Looks super clean,do you drive it daily? I agree 90% of how any speaker sounds is in the box design. I have made cheap speakers sound very good with the proper sized and built box. I even built a bandpass that was musical and accurate. Usually bandpass boxes are totally one note wonders. But there are times you just cant change peoples minds and thats fine.
Well I guess I shouldn't have used the term one note wonder, that should be reserved for your everyday bandpasses. Actually the L7 is the sub I hear most often, and I have heard them in a few different sized sealed, and ported boxes. In a sealed it does sound better, but it is not perfect. It doesn't have the best response with fast paced double pedal bass, and seems to really only like synthesized bass. I listen purely to ska hardcore, roots reggae, and metal so that has a lot to do with why I don't like the L7, it doesn't match my music tastes so well. Don't get me wrong the L7 is a great competition sub, especially for the money and are well built. It is a monster SPL sub, that can also play music nicely but it is no W7. Remember this is only my opinion, which is based mainly around my personal musical tastes.

I still have 2 accord boxes on ebay. The price is very fair too. Anyone wants one email me at Azenis29@aol.com or look a page back for the ebay link. If anyone in High Point N.C. has a 7th gen accord I would give you a great deal on a box if you let me model one to fit your car. Learning to glass is just time consuming, hard work and a little expensive. Check your local library for books on boat repair or composites. You'll get the basics quickly from that. Then search online for materials ebay for mat which I also sell on ebay. Fiberglasssite.com for mold release, resin, gelcoat etc etc. Almost any shape can be made from glass and its strong stuff. I am thinking of making a really wild general purpose box like BigTzAccords but holds 2 ten inch woofers, this could go into any trunk or hatch. Anyone wants any fiberglass mat just click my ebay link a page back and go to "my other items" youll see it there, very cheap too.
If your going to make a stand alone box, I think one for 12"s or 15" will sell better. Most people think bigger is better, and two is better than one. I'd take a single 10" W7 over almost any other sub, but most people don't think like that.
Maybe make a mold that could accommodate either 10"s or 12". Then don't cut the box until you sell it and the buyer can choose. So that way you would only have to mess with a single plug and mold, but have a more flexible product.

Daily no, my 1995 Accord is for that, plus the Accord gets better gas mileage.
Do I trailer it. no again. I just drive it whenever I feel the need or want to show her off.
Thanks for the tips on getting starting with fiberglass.
No problem on the tips on glassing. I have a few ideas. I was thinking of offering this Accord box as a kit. People can buy the main glass shell and put there own MDF baffle in,MDF is heavy and it would ship for less money without it. Carpet your own front panel, this saves me a lot of trimming and finishing time. Cut your own woofer hole,in a few hours you have a complete box for less money. Waiting to see what people think of this idea.

Well anyone wanting a box or kit can email me direct at Azenis29@aol.com. This is for the 1998 to 2002 Accords. I am now making a universal box for 2 12inch subs thats wildly contoured. I dont think I will advertise that one online because shipping would be quite high. Its about 1.5 cubic feet per side and would be a oversized box to ship putting it into the expensive UPS catagory. I also just finished my Miata stealth box for 2 tens in a Miata. I sell a lot of these boxes locally at car audio shops. Anyone in the High Point N.C. area can come and see the boxes at my shop. Im also thinking of making a universal front panel for a box. This would be contoured and hold a pair of 12" subs. You buy the front panel and build the rest of the box and screw or glue this panel on. Then you can carpet the back of the box and have the contoured front with the subs. This way shipping isnt as bad and you get the look you want. Of course the front panel would be black,it can be painted any color. Im talking about the orange one, basic idea anyways.

I forgot to mention I dropped the price on the stealth box for the 1998 to 2002 Accords to 150.00. Its a high quality box, very strong, sounds great and fits like a glove. You wont find a fiberglass box like this anywhere else or nearly this cheap. My email is Azenis29@aol.com.
