amp overheating?

yeah you're right its probably just too old.
i just realized the power light is red, and its supposed to be blue but idk why it'd constantly be in that mode.
oh well i guess thats just what you get when you spend 30 bucks on a really old amp =[

Also check to see if you might have a bunch of dustballs in the fan area...or you have it sitting on something that wont let it get enuogh ventilation...

The red light is protection mode, which amps usually have short and temperature protection. So if it's coming on right away it is probably a short. Try turning the amp on without the speaker wires connected. If the the light still comes on then the short is inside the amp and is not the wiring or sub. Also an extreme accumulation of dust and debris can cause a short. Open up the amp and look for dust or any burn marks.

Lol this is not an xbox. There is no sticker or anything to detect if it has been opened. And from the sound of it this amp is old enough to be out of warranty a few times over.
