Default Firewall hole for power cable to amp

I'm a newbie here so bear with me. I've got a 2010 accord ex-l v6... I've got a swell new stereo to put in and I'm trying to find a way to run the #4 power cable through the firewall. I've looked at the various posts re. this issue but I haven't seen an 8th generation idea that fits the bill. I've found a grommet on the engine side, just a few inches away from a main run and I REALLY want to be sure this is the correct access before I try ramming a #4 wire through it. My best guesstimate is that the wire will come through behind the hvac system. I pulled the stereo out yesterday to see if I could even see the firewall and I couldn't. Also, from the inside, just left of the steering column, is a cut out in the insulation which has bare metal behind it and I thought I'd found what I was looking for, however, from looking closely, if I drilled a hole here I would have access to wheel well and not the engine compartment. (I read a thread where someone did just this) So... I'm attaching a photo of the aforementioned grommet on the firewall (see arrow) and wonder if this is the promised land and if so, how am I going to route the wire through the maze? Also, a photo of the cutout on the interior... could this be a good place to drill or will it indeed get me into the well? Sorry this is so long, but I don't want to screw this up. Thanks in advance, Mark

look above the gas pedal on the firewall - that is the best location for wire to pass through. you may even find an unused grommet.
