Default Help with amp installation and big three!!

to sum it up im going to be helping my friend install a big three and sometime soon down the road two new amps for his system. He drives a 2000 civic ex.

I wanted to use 1/0 gauge for the big 3 but some guy at an audio place told him to use 4 gauge and got him to buy cut pieces with terminals for it. The guy told him to not worry about fusing the alternator to battery connection!!! :O. So anyway im gonna fuse it for him but is the 4 gauge gonna be good enough with soon to be two huge amps? I dont wanna waste my time honestly if i have to do it over again.

Now the amps. he is gonna be running 3000 watt and 1600 watt power acoustik amps. I have a bunch of 4 gauge tsunami to use but i fear that wire might not be good enough for the draws. He bought a capacitor to use but im just skeptic to what he wants to do. He wont even listen when i mention high output alternator or new battery lol. more importantly does anyone know much about these amps that will help me? sorry this is my first experience with that much power lol.

any help is appreciated. thanks!

Those are big numbers not big amps... I'd be surprised if that "3000w" put out much more than 1000w cleanly and that's being generous. The bigger the wire the better, but if its not even for you just let him do the 4awg.

Yeah i didnt think they would actually push out what they are rated at, thanks. I figure just as long as we fuse everything any wire issues will show themselves without burning his car to the ground.

honestly you could run that with 8 gauge if you wanted but 4 gauge is as big as i would go and i agree with t00fatt bout the watts you will truely be running.

If your talking about the big three wires, no 8awg is not enough. I believe the stock wires are 8awg, I've got 00.
