thanks, i am looking forward to fiberglassing some covers and trim - just to finish it out. but that will be after i get the 125Hz resonance dealt with. i looked at A LOT of different fabric. unfortunately, the selection for dark gray sucks, and black achieved my goal of making them invisible from outside the car. I used a type of fleece. i wanted something soft and thick - to absorb some of the opposite tweeter as well as the wave expansion from each tweeter. i used fleece because I may opt to resin and fill them one day, but probably not due to the absorptive qualities.

some recent work to experiment with speaker locations and soundstage width.

i have my midbass in the door now so my 6.5" holes in the floor were empty... until now. I made a ring to mount some mids in that location. I recess mounted them so i had both protection and off-axis control

both mids can be played, and since they are mostly in the same location, the soundstage differences should be based on speaker orientation.

New carpeting is still planned. not sure what i'll do yet, may just cover the factory carpet with new carpet. may make my own out of MLV, carpet, and foams.

The carpet is non-backed, so it doesn't impede sound. It protects the speakers from dirt and grime from feet. Soon I will recarpet the floor and you won't see any transition or difference.
