Radar Detector
1. The speed limit is slow. I do not like it.
2. I am not a big fan of the fuzz.
3. I should buy a radar detector.
I know there is a wide range of prices and performance for these devices, and while I don't want to spend a $1500 or something for a brand new Escort, I don't want to get a cheesy $60 piece of junk Rocky Mountain that won't really do much. The car itself was less than six grand to buy, so I don't want to sink money into it.
Basically I'm asking for a bit of advice for those who have been speeding longer than I have and also share my mentality about the police. Any recommendations on a good compromise between price and quality?
Preferably I'd like one that mounts under the audio system, I have room for one there (a previous owner replaced the Honda system with a smaller JVC. Why...? I have no idea. The new one is less helpful and harder to use than the 6CD changer/cassette deck one it replaced). At least I have space for a better hidden detector now. Although if you guys think the rear-view window ones work better and there is a real reason why, that makes sense too, I just would prefer not to tick off the cops that much more.

Of course nobody is a fan of the fuzz. However, in some areas they have began to use Laser or light detection. This is the best detector for the cost. The link is to best buy where the price is the lowest.
