2005 Honda Accord EX won’t go into park, key doesn’t come out
Good afternoon all, i have a 2005 honda accord ex (automatic transmission) that i was recently doing some replacements on, some of which include new cv axles, new brake pads, rotors, and calipers. the engine and transmission are amazing and it shifted smoothly before. i also replaced the shift button on the shifter because it broke and i was able to put it back with ease and it shifted properly. now the gear goes into park but it doesn’t seem to be actually parked because the key doesn’t come out (no the wheel is not locked). but i would also like to mention that the brakes still need to be bled and have new fluid put in them as well as needing a new battery because it won’t hold a charge for more than a day. i’ve read some threads that it could be the shift solenoid or some sort of cable. but i don’t want to buy something that it doesn’t need and then have a hassle returning it. if i can check somewhere under the car to have a clear answer i can do that because it’s on the lift. please leave suggestions! thank you!
