2006 Accord 2.4l Timing Issued
The original engine lost compression in one cylinder, so I ordered a replacement engine from JDM Engine Depot. Installed it, and tried to start it. It turned over freely with no compression. Removed valve cover and couldn't get the marks on the cam gears to line up when putting the engine at TDC using the mark on the crank pulley. Removed timing cover, set the timing with colored chain links and everything was where it was supposed to be. Rotated the engine slowly with a ratchet and after 2 revolutions, the timing was off again and would not line up for anything. Looking online, even if it was a newer engine, it was still a K24A and the timing chains are the same. What could be causing the timing to be off after setting it? I'm stumped.
