Repeated overheating will insure you have a head gasket problem.

Your statements have nothing to do w/ overheating.

What obd1 code was presented when CEL came on?

good luck

the cel is because an o2 sensor i know this becuase i checked it and because the light doesnt come on right away i know its the o2 sensor i was wondering what could cause unburned gas on the wires. But i think the overheating problem is the head gasket

I'm not sure what you mean by "unburned gas on the wires"?

Have you replaced the thermostat? I know you say it opened but that doesn't mean it is not sticking.

ok now i did the radiator bled the coolant replaced top n bottom hose with thermostat and gasket. I start it up it goes to warm after like 2 mins stay there for like 10 mins goes up a little stays there for like 5 mins then goes all the way up before the h. It doesnt hit the h now. it stays a little under the h and goes down a little when i drive then i stop it goes back up. And i started it up with the heater on earlier it didnt blow out hot air till the temperature was all the way up its not suppose to take that long. Anyone had this problem? I dont want to give up

Is coolant reservoir bubbling? This would indicate exhaust gas entering coolant and bad head gasket.

good luck

I'm getting confused here. This thread started out with the temp is fine sitting still, goes up when you drive - to now - the temp goes down when you drive?

Have you tested/checked for a head gasket leak?

You say BOTH rad fans are on 100% of the time - do me a favor and place your hand between the rad and the engine - is the air being pulled from the front of the car towards the engine?

ok let me make it clear when sitting still it goes a little pass normal just slightly and stays there. It gets hot faster when i start to drive it stays a little pass normal. Then it goes down to normal then a little pass normal. When i stop it starts going all the way up under the h. Then when i pull off again it goes a little under that. And stays there until i stop again. So basically when i drive it stays a little above normal when i stop it goes up. And it just keeps going up and back down but never back to normal temperature
