94 Accord Engine and Tranny Swap from 96 Accord
#4
yes it can be swapped with little modifications. If the 96 engine and trans are obd2 (most likely it will be) you will need a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness and retain your obd1 ecu if your swapping the same engine. Since your 94 is obd1.
Now are we talking about auto or 5 speed trans?? Also need to know if your 94 is a f22b1 or f22b2? Also need to know the same for the 96 engine.

if we are talking about a auto obd2 trans I'm not sure how that works if you are running on a obd1 system. I think you have to use a obd1 trans. But it's a 5speed trans this there is no issue. It's all computer related with the auto trans. You can't run a obd2 auto trans on a obd1 set up. Even with the trans I BELIVE. Not 100% sure tho something that might need some research.

Maybe not OBD-1 vs. OBD-2. But rather, beginning in 1998 the auto-trans was controlled more completely by the PCM, there is no longer any physical cable from throttle to trans, more shifting logic is done in PCM rather than valves & fluidics, etc. etc...

that's what I siad to use a obd1 trans if it's a auto. I don't think a obd2 trans will work on a obd1 system. I know the obd1 vs obd2 auto trans work little diffrently. Unless you can use a obd2 TCU on a obd1 ecu. I'm not all so sure on that tho. research would be in order to figgure that out...
