Default 95 Accord low idle please help

95 Accord, 2.2 Vtec, automatic.. Okay so when I start my engine cold, starts at 1000 rpm, after heating to regular operating temperature or once I shift into another gear my idle drops low to about 125 or so. Havn't checked or vaccuum leaks because my idle doenst shoot up and down crazy. I noticed when I turn on my A/C my idle gets a little more rough. Rpm is regular once I accelerate, no eratic change in rpm shooting to 3000 or something. When cruising and foot off pedal my rpm is 600-750. But as I approach a stop or apply break pressure my rpm goes down to low 125. I cleaned my throttle body plate, helped a little. Would fuel injector cleaner help? Any comments or tips greatly appreciated.

How about adjusting the base idle? There's a post about it in the DIY section.

Look closely at tachometer. The first mark above zero is large mark for 500 rpm. Engine would not run at 125 rpm.

Low idle speed usually results from dirty idle air control valve (IACV) preventing adequate idle air to the engine to produce correct idle. See DIY forum for cleaning instructions.

good luck

Agree with Jim and TX.....all I would add is a cleaning of the IACV anf FITV would be a plus.....cold start, I'd like to see the rpm's around 1,500 rpm.

There are many write ups on the cleaning, once done as stated do the base idle an re-learn procedure.
