Accord 2005 fan and AC problems
Hi everyone!
so this is my first post as a new member here... i figured i'd come here and ask around rather than go from one overpriced garage to the next trying to figure out what's gotten into my car... (ghost maybe?).
two days ago i noticed the AC was not cooling as much as it used to, so i went and got a 12a refill which i had put in. The AC then started blowing hot air... afterwhich it stopped turning on completely. ok i can live with that however much it sucks... the next day, turn my fan on for some heat (this is still early summer in mtl - heat in the morning; AC in the afternoon) at which point some switch or computer module began making a terrible racket. car still heats fine, and cools but no AC. As well, everytime the temperature adjusts this switch thing makes the racket and the car actually feels like is compressing and might want to stall. Any ideas as to what might be happenning?

Did you measure the AC system pressures (high & low) before putting in the refrigerant?
Are you sure you got R-12a (which is really the wrong stuff)?
First you need to know the system pressures so you know whether a simple lack of refrigerant is the problem. There's other reasons for it to have no cooling, and sometimes adding refrigerant is not what you want to do.
Second, your car takes R-134a refrigerant. The oil used in R-12 is not compatible with the oil used in R-134a systems.
