any engine codes (check engine lights)?

I would get a fuel pressure gauge on there since you just worked on that a lot.
You also need to make sure your plugs are firing. I would check the fuel pressure first though.

its a honda accord vtec 4, 1995, we thought about the spark plugs, havent tested it out, but like i said, the guy who came over said, and myself i think that the car might be receiving either not enough, or too much air, the car starts, but doesnt stay on unless i keep accelerating, and even then, the car has trouble accelerating

Here are a few things that can be wrong with your Vehicle...
Faulity spark plug wires...
Vacume leak in the intake manifold or in the vacume hoses...

before you dropped in that new fuel tank did you verify that the fuel pump and pickup were in proper working order? did you crimp a fuel line? start there first

I'd agree.... get a fuel pressure gauge on there... under accell it's a constantly increasing call for air and fuel but once you level out it's just a stream so then your backflow valves and stuff in the fuel pump come into play.... are you certain that you have the pickup etc installed properly? get a pressure gauge on there and let us know what the fix is....

This may be outlandish but have you ever checked the timing on it?

The car starts and runs for about a minute but there seems to be a problem with the intake manifold. It runs but it has difficulty staying on possibly the idle air control valve, manifold absolute pressure sensor or maybe intake air temperature sensor. The car does not idle you have step on the gas to keep it on. Fire and fuel are good but having trouble with the air mixture.
