Default Engine cooling issue..

I have a 94 Honda Accord EX and I've noticed in the last week that after the engine warms up the tempt gauges raises suddenly to the a little below the red. When I begin to drive the tempt gauge suddenly falls to the normal engine level (a little under half). I checked all my fluids levels and they are good, does anybody have a suggestion or idea how to fix it? Do you think a radiator flush is the solution?

Thanks in advance for the ideas!

If the gauge moves real suddenly, the first thing Id do ischeck for(rule out?) a bad gauge.

we need more details. does the temp go up only when you are at a stop?...or even if you are moving? how fast does the needle go up? when was the last time the fluid was flushed? maybe you have air in your cooling system. we need more details to help you out further.
