Exaust system or cat backs?

Exaust system or cat backs?
I am faced with a tough question. It's either i get a full exhaust system and pay almost 700 dollars or I get cat backs and waste 150. I want to know what i should do? What the benefits will be of an exhaust system compared to just cat-backs. Also if the exhaust system is really worth the price? Please help. Thanks
