Default Exhaust manifold weld

Hi folks

Now i recently purchased a new exhaust manifold on ebay which turned out to be slightly wrong, the one i currently have has a crack in it...ive enquired about a weld and ive been told it can be done and ive been qouted a good price. 80% cheaper than a new manifold ... any experience of this as i know its a cast iron weld and in the past had alot of bad rep

It can be done if correct welding consumible is used, enough preheat, and slow cooldown (oven). Check youtube videos on welding cast iron.

Have you looked for a used part? This may be cheapest option.

good luck
