After a quick look on the tiger japanese site, the F22B DOHC is $45 more than a F22b1, I would go with the F22B for that price.

Street tuning and reliability dont belong in the same sentence, look for skatingclaybird and he can attest to that as his cheap tune and turbo kit are killing his engine after only a few hundred miles.

the dyno tune wasnt a problem until the guy that everyone knows and thinks about when they say the name of the local shop was fired/quit. i can still get a dyno tune, but i would have to travel almost 2hrs about so....and i hadnt thought about the f22b1 (dohc), it would give me more slightly more tq and hp but does anyone reccomend going 7lbs daily on a stock motor? i have no back up at the moment

F22B1 is SOHC VTEC, F22B is JDM DOHC VTEC.

Just because it hasn't been answered, D series is comparable to F as B is to H.

The F&H are larger engines than the D&B ..... F/H are good for larger cars like the Accord, B/D are good for smaller ..... civics.

On the other hand, a screamer B18 turbo would be fun to try on a 5th gen!!!
