how to identify my engine

Default how to identify my engine

hello all. my name is Justin and Im new to the site. I recentley purchased a 1994 Honda Accord Sedan an am tryin to learn some things about it. The engine has been swapped and I am trying to figure out what kind it is. Can someone point me in the right direction please???

Where the engine meets the transmission there will be a stamp on the block on a flat piece that tells you. For example F22B1 H23A1 C32B etc etc.

That number does not come up in my charts at all...is it a 4cyl or a 6 cyl for starts?
Did you look where Live to rice has his picture at and take down those numbers for us..If all elase fails go to Honda today and the will read the numbers off to you and tell them the engine was switched and not to use the Vin numbers...

Is there a number above those numbers, that seems like a production number which is usually under the engine code. It should be in this patter Letter##Letter and possibly another number on the end.

ok. well ive had five or six people look at my engine and they all are confused as to why there is no other code. but it has been determined that i have a F22B1. we arent 100% sure but im pretty confident. anyhow, how does this engine stack up? do i have something to work with here?? thanx for the insight fellas

The codes sometimes get worn away or covered in dirt so you cant read them. Well a F22B1 is the stock engine that comes in the 94 EX. It makes 145hp stock. It can handle a fair amount of boost.
