Yeah man, I totally agree... I don't know why they don't make an actual shorter stick lol. You know, If I can weld a working one with my buddy, I might have to start selling them to everybody on this forum, because I'm sure that others are having the same issues that we are. I still don't get why the major companies don't just make a shorter stick, housing and all...

 

what is a short shift adapter and how does it help is this only for manual?

 

A short shift adapter is a small piece of billet aluminum that attaches in beween the shift linkage and the shift stick. It basically raises the linkage up higher on the shift stick so that every time you move the stick, the linkage moves like twice as far. It's kinda difficult to explain, you'd have to just like put one in, and then you'd be like "Oh ! I totally get it now lol" at least that's how I was... But yeah, it's only for manual transmissions, unfortunatley. But, Automatics shift faster than humans can anyways lol. To be honest though, the adaptors help, but they are by no means like totally pro or anything. 00AccordLX5spd and I are mad though, because we wish companies made like a shorter stick itself, because that combined with the adapter would help a lot, plus we wouldn't have lame looking footlong shift sticks lol.

 

Yeah these shift sticks are waaaayyy to long. They look like something that would be in a frickin truck!

 

Haha I totally agree man... My buddy's Audi has like an "Uber" short stick stock... Totally not fair if you ask me lol.
