oil leak

RE: oil leak
well, that's actually one of the reasons i will take the crushed washer that comes with the filter if i go to a shop to get my oil changed. otherwise i go to the dealer. on these cars getting to the filter is a little hard, having a hoist makes it tremendously easy for the mechanics to change the filter.
had a friend change my oil once and he didn't tighten the drain plug and i noticed a drop or two but then went to this other shop (that i think was kinda shady they used kendall oil (which isn't bad oil), but anyways they tightened the drain plug).
thanks for the compliment!

RE: oil leak
i should thank this forum and people like you for keeping me informed of the sensitive honda engine. its a great car and there is a reason honda made these accords the way they are. you don't want a ford guy working on a honda (he/she would say i have never had to replace my draing plug). but, by that they don't have any clue (at least in my opinion) about what the crushed washer does on a honda. and, i thank the people in this forum. i am sure it has helped tons of people save expensive repairs (or possibly an overhaul) just for a $.27 part!
