Default What To Look Out For In Buying An Accord?

Hello Everyone,I'm considering purchasing a automatic 6 cylinder Accord Sedan, possibly 05 or 06. Is there anything I should look out for? Are there any defects on this model car? Is it true that the trainy goes in less that 80k in normal driving. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm really looking forward to purchasing one and becoming an active member in your forum. Thanks

The problematic automatic transmisions were on the 98-02 models (6th generation) accords. No worries for 05-06 models. Just remember you will have to get the timing belt changed at 105k or 7 years (job can range from $300to as much as$1300 in some locations such as Chicago)

FlyLow, actually you're off by a year in both ends...

it's 98-02 as 00Accord said.

trans failures for the 03-04 V6model are not as bad a s previous years but they are not rock solid either........

if you are REALLY SERIOUS about buying this car take the VIN and run it past your insurance agent. it will do several things

1. tell you the real number of owners for your car
2. tell you if the car was involved in any accident that was reported to an insurance company

then take the VIN to the service guy and have him look up the service history on the car for WARRANTY WORK. every Honda dealer has access to this...

look the car over and do things like look under the seats, under the trunk mat, between the seat cousins, in the console, etc...

if the car passes this test, take it to your trusted mechanic and have them give it the once over......
