My 00 Accord 1.8l LX has some A/C issues. The controls on the console will go dead many times throughout any trip. The car can be driving or parked idle and the a/c controls will not light up and the a/c will stop blowing cold. Then magically a few seconds to minutes later the panel will light up again and cold air will flow. I have plenty of r134 and the blower works no matter what. I took apart the console and verified the cables going to the A/C controls are not loose. The fuse is not blown and the a/c board (at the console level) looks fine.

What else can I look at to fix this problem?

 

Replace the climate control panel. Ours did something similar and the board looked fine too. Apparently this is a common problem in our generation of Accords. I was patient and found one on ebay for $50. Problem solved.
