Well I just called my friend it is a check light which cuts off after a couple seconds. Once I get the fuse box installed I will troubleshoot the starter and that should be it. I'm still going to test the safety switch to be sure it's working correctly and intermittently going out.

I think it does, then when you put it in drive it stays lit. At least in my wife's car it does.
