Default '06 sedan shakes under acceleration and braking

Have a 2006 accord sedan with 106k on it that im trying to diagnose...it shakes under acceleration and braking. This is more noticeable on the highway but still present during around town driving. Cruising at a constant speed on the highway is fine but if I try to accelerate or slow down it shakes pretty badly. I've read in posts on here that it can be a cv joint but the fact that it also does it under braking has me questioning that and going back to my original idea of suspension related. Any thoughts? thank you!

When accelerating it could be that u need alignment, check the cv joints and rack and pinion too just to make sure. About the shaking when bracking take it to a shop or a brake place u might need to machine ur rotor, meaning that it will make them straight and smooth. With time the brake rotor tend to get like waves and causes it to shake when brake is applied.

how can i check to see if the cv joints are bad? All the suspension components/bushings look alright and with the car jacked up everything feels solid with no play in anything when i try to shake things.

Shaking can come from anything, from a bad tire or bad alignment. Cars are supposed to be align two times a year. Like I said if ur not to date with ur alignment u might have to check that. Also take it to a brake shop so they can machine ur brake rotors or disc, it causes the shaking when braking. There's some places that u can do both, for my is better since it saves time and u dont have to be from shop to shop. Anyways good luck!

More then likely it needs an alignment. Just look at the CV joint boots on the front axle. If they look torn, then you need to replace the CV joint axle. And if you do that you need an alignment. I doubt it is your CV joints, your car is pretty new, and those CV joints can take more abuse then you think.

DO NOT align the car it will be a waste of your money..........

you clould have 2 issues,,
1,,, inner cv joints could be worn ?? possible bad tire?? tires way off balance?? worn suspension parts ??
2,,,, rotors could be warped
But first i would chk to make sure that all the frt end suspension parts are not worn and or loose,,including tires

whatever you do ,, DO NOT waste your money on doing an alignment to solve this issue

Did you find out what was causing the shaking? I have a 05 accord and it shakes at 20 mph. It use to shake at 20 and 60 but I replaced the main motor mount and front axles. I think replacing the front axles stopped the shaking at 60 mph.
