So I was running late to work the other day, so I had to ignore the gas light. When I finally stopped after work to fill up, the needle was on the empty slash. When I filled it up, it was full at 13.5 gallons. I thought all of the tanks on 7th gen accords were 17.5 gallons? Do they go crazy long after the gas light comes on? This explains why i thought I was getting crap mpg.

 

My gas light comes on when I've still got 3 gallons in the tank. The light comes on as a reminder that you'll be needing gas soon, not that the tank is completely empty!

 

mine does the same thing, right when the gas light comes on I go and fill her up, but its usually only 13/14 gal im putting in... so no your not getting crappy mpg honda is just lookin out for ya so you don't get stranded
