Default 1990 Accord electrical issue

My 1990 Accord's cooling fan wants to run whenever it feels like it. The relay was clicking rapidly a couple months ago, but didn't have any problems other than that. Now my battery is going dead in a matter of a couple days (without driving it). I tried to leave the fuse for the fan out and see if that worked, but the battery still went dead. I also tried swapping the power window relay for the cooling fan relay, but it still did the same thing. Could a bad battery cause all this, or do I have a problem with a thermoswitch?

Thanks,

josh

If you know that your car is going to be sitting for a few days I'd disconnect the battery cables and then test the battery after a couple of days and see if it's got a full charge still. I've seen weak batteries do some pretty funky things and since that's the cheapest/easiest thing to test I'd start their, if the battery is fine then we'll move on!

Ok. Thanks, I'll start there. I'm going to drive it around tonight so the battery has a chance to take a good charge then disconnect it. I'll keep you posted on the outcome!

Thanks again,

josh
