We need some more detail about what is going on.

When you turn the key to the start position, the starter spins the engine. When the engine fires up (starts running on its own), you release the key.

So is the starter spinning the engine? Or is the engine not firing up?

If you replaced the distributor, you replaced the coil which is inside the distributor.

Answer PAH's question first to see whether it's a starter or failure to run problem.

good luck

Sorry I only replaced the cap and rotor. The ignitior and ignition coil hasn't been replaced. But it cranks to answer your question. But never fires up. If I waited about a few hrs it starts then repeats again with the not firing.

First step w/ no-start is to try to determine whether fuel or ignition is the problem.

Next time no-start occurs, listen carefully for fuel pump to come On when keyswitch is turned to On. It should run 2-3 secs and cut off simulataneously w/ Check Engine Light.

If you hear fuel pump reliably and no-start continues, then ignition fault is likely. Check following link for diagnostics.

Honda Acura Starting Problems Repair Guide, Main Relay Locations

If you don't hear fuel pump, the Main Fuel Relay or fuel pump are likely cause of no-start.

good luck
