If the car driving normally once you get it into gear, then I would say that you should be ok.

I would hate for you to throw parts at your car that may not fix the problem. The TCU is usually the last thing that you want to replace. That is why I suggested that you look for those burned components on the board. If you found a junkyard nearby that would allow you to return the part if it doesn't fix the problem, that would be great.

I would also suggest that you should check are the grounds around the car. I would clean them with a wire brush, then tighten them back down. Definitely do this on all ends of both battery cables. Also have the battery tested at a parts store. If there is enough of a voltage drop, it could erase the ECU/TCU memory.

The online manuals thread in the DIY section has a link for a 91 accord. That manual shows the ground locations in the engine bay. The cabin ones are missing in the manual, but there are grounds that you can try to clean in the cabin. I would assume that they are in the same general locations as my 95 accord. You can download the 94 manual to see where they are located to give you an idea of what to look for.

So i thought my Audi Coupe had electrical gremlins..i started the car up today to go to work and not only did the sport mode light come on but the car also let me disengage the shifter...so im thinking when i rained really hard a few nights ago there must be a back ground wire or faulty open circuit.
