1991 Honda accord shifts weird
Although I have been researching my problem for a while, I am brand new at this forum. My issue its that after a few seconds of turning the car on the S light will come on. I have read that it could be the TCU, so I found a good dyi article at another forum on how to take out and inspect it and there was nothing burned on the thing. I called the previous owner (buddy of mine) and he said he also has researched the problem with no luck. He also said he had cut the wire in the shifter (automatic) trying to fix the S light problem. I have tried getting a code but neither my CEL or the S light gave me any codes, just stayed on. Can Someone please help???

Find out what wire was cut, then reconnect that wire (if that hasn't been done already). See if the S light will then flash a code.
The problem could still be the TCU. I would just price out used TCUs on car-part.com. That site searches junkyards by price or by distance, so you can see what is available in your area.

the TCU's on the old Honda's have been a pretty big problem from what i have read and my own personal experience. i have already replaced my TCU once with a used one and compared to buying a new one was much cheaper and well worth the money spent.
