I found several sites with those Honda electronic parts cat. part #'s. It was early morning here in Seattle and wasn't thinking straight. I really wanted to just say Thank You. I am still trying to find out the difference in MC's and yet to find a booster that is not discontinued. Trying to find drawings showing specifications and dimensions. I have not had a chance to look at car today (pouring rain) but Thank You for all your help I will figure it out from here. Have a good one. Peace-Out

 

Jim, wouldn't the EX have rear disc brakes? Or is that something that came later? That might be the reason for different parts.

 

Probably. But that's on a different parts drawing & I didn't think about that.

 

Thanx again for the help. I got this response back from an inquiry today.

It appears to be a difference in trim level. Unfortunately, we don't have any sort of diagrams for such older models (or even new models). I would recommend talking with your local dealership for something like that.

What I can tell you is that for your VIN number, 46100-SM4-A04 and 46400-SM4-003 are the ones that match your VIN.

Jim or Toecutter would those numbers be cast or stamped into the part somewhere? I would go remove it real quick but if you know Seattle it is raining buckets right now. Thanx for the help guys. Yes it has drums in the rear and non ABS.

 

Couldn't tell you. It might have a sticker tag, or a loose tag when it was new. But now after 26 years it might no longer be visible.
Honda was good for putting part numbers on parts though, so it might be on the under side of the part. A mirror might help.

 

How about the rear brakes? Got drums or disks? If a previous owner installed disks from an EX on that car, maybe then you need the MC from the EX.

There's also a proportioning valve in the system. Maybe that's affecting the pedal?

Don't forget about the pushrod adjustment also. For that, I'd try to get a download shop manual.
