Plan on taking about three times longer than your most conservative time estimate.

Tony speaks the truth, and always expect hidden costs, as they are always there in projects like this.

Kept searching and finally found an engine with 144,000 miles, $325.00 with 90 day warranty. Local grease monkey gave me an estimate of 7 or 8 hours for him to do it. The teen racer and I set aside 4 days !!! Hewants to go to mechanics school after high school and I figure it will do us both some good. I will let you all know how it goes.

I realize that you may not have limitless funds, but over the long haul something like this may be a better buy:

"20 - 25000 miles"
engine AND transmission

I highly doubt those numbers.

I wish my dad would do an engine swap with me.... and I wish my grandpa liked modding cars instead of building them...

your son is lucky!

Well, he has said I get his entirenext pay but I know his mother too well!!! Know what I mean? I am doing complete timing belt kit, water pump, cam seal etc. and nothings cheap anymore. He is a high school senior and works evenings so I guess maybe we are both lucky. BTW he paid half the cost two years ago when I got the accord.

those estimates are complete BS, they have no idea how many miles are on the engines, same with any engine importer. They say its the average miles driven a year times how old the motor is, but they always say the same for like a motor from 92 or 01, and they have no proof.

also heard bad stories about tiger Japanese.
