Default 1994 Accord DX F22B2 KH Model - A/C clutch now inoperative

I was chasing down why the radiator fan (passenger side fan) was inoperative on this car, and apparently have annoyed something else to the point where it gave up. The A/C was working fine before I began diagnostic tests on the radiator fan, but now is inoperative.

After a series of diagnostic tests (checked for power to the plug on the A/C relay, jumpered leads to make A/C clutch click, etc) I am now to the point where the Honda manual on this site is asking me to use a breakout box to check the wiring further. Of course I don't have the breakout box...the relay wasn't powered and checked but it was substituted with the relay adjacent to it (condenser fan relay) and the fan worked just fine as before.

Any other ideas?

Multiple threads are being made about this car, please let me know if in your experience this is all related.

I would check the AC diode to be sure it is good. If it is open, the ECU will not enable the compressor.

Does blower run? Blower is necessary for a ground path for AC thermostat.

Breakout box checks for faulty wiring to the ECU. This is possible but a pretty low probability. Look for any possible mechanical damage to harnessses.

good luck
