1999 Accord Air Compressor Pulley Replacement
#11
Roader - Do we have different manuals? Mine is titled "SERVICE MANUAL 1998-2002 ACCORD 2/4 DR". Page 21-51 is titled "Compressor Clutch Overhaul". I attached the page on the previous post. I guess it doesn't matter though since it appears the pressure plate should come off without a special tool. Thanks anyway for your response.

Weird. I downloaded this FSM six months ago and again a few minutes ago and in both cases the page is 21-21, yet it's obvious you posted a PDF of the same page marked 21-51. I don't see how that can be.

The 98-02 Accord service manual for the 4 cylinder shows the compressor clutch overhaul at pg. 21-51.
The 98-02 Accord V6 supplemental service manual shows the compressor clutch overhaul at pg. 21-21.

redbull-1, Thanks for clearing things up.
Roader - Can you tell me where I can download the Accord V6 supplemental service manual?
FYI - I found out that there are several a/c compressor clutch removal/installer tools that can be rented from AutoZone. I'll follow up when I get my hands on the correct tool and hopefully get the pressure plate off.

HondaSid, the only manual I have was downloaded from the link in post #2 on page Hose above lower radiator? (01 LX), created 3/8/13. The manual's title is Service Manual 1998 - 2002 Accord 2/4 Dr. It doesn't cover the V6 engine Accord, just the F-series. Page 21-21 is titled Compressor Clutch Overhaul ('98-00 model), snapshot attached. The manual also has page 21-26 entitled Compressor Clutch Overhaul ('01-02 model).
It's the only online 6th Gen FSM I know of.

Removing a stuck Denso 10PA ac compressor clutch pressure plate
I found the solution to remove a seriously stuck on, impossible to remove, ac compressor clutch pressure plate (see below).
1. Using an AC clutch holding tool (Autozone loaner tool OEM# 27000) or impact wrench, remove the 10mm bolt from front of compressor.
2. Using the clutch holding tool, hold the front of the clutch while threading one of the bolts from AC compressor mount with a 12mm socket wrench into front of compressor. This will drive the compressor clutch pressure plate off the splined shaft.
Originally, after I performed step 1 above, I expected the pressure plate to come off easily. Unfortunately, no such luck. I pried on it with screwdrivers, sprayed it with PB Blaster, and even tried a jaw puller to no avail. Once I learned about step 2 above, I had the pressure plate off within 30 seconds.
